The Trapholt collection
The Trapholt collection is the collection of works owned by the museum. The collection consists primarily of Danish visual art and sculpture, from the 19th century and later. The bulk of the collection, however, dates from post 1900. In addition to art, the Trapholt collection also includes handicraft, design and furniture design produced post 1900. The collection is continually being added to – in the form of new acquisitions, gifts and works on loan.
The Trapholt collection is extensive. We therefore regularly select parts of it for exhibition at the museum, the remainder being held in store.
You can find details of the Trapholt collection in a database at Kunst Indeks Danmark (the Danish Art Index).
Trapholt maintains a specialised library of technical literature relating to the collections. You can find a list of all books in the Trapholt library here: Trapholts bibliotek. The library is not open to the public but – by special arrangement – can be used for research and study purposes. |
